Member of Parliament for North Danyi constituency in the Volta Region, Joycelyn Tetteh has donated over GHS400,000 worth of items to some 550 Junior High School graduates accross the 9 traditional areas of the North Dayi constituency to aid them in their preparation to continue their education in the Senior High School.

The items distributed include 500 student mattresses, 200 chop boxes, exercise books, buckets and school bags.

In an interaction with the media, the MP said she is not overlooking the oversight responsibilities although everyone assumes the job of the Member of Parliament is to make laws.

”Am sure everybody will assume or know that as a member of Parliament, your job is to make laws, but am not overlooking the oversight responsibilities.”

“I am committed to whatever I have been asked to do. These children must go to school and even though I am not buying everything on the prospectus, I feel these are difficult times and as a mother and Member of Parliament for the constituency, I should come and support in one way or the other,” the MP told the media.

When asked about the impending parliamentary primaries, the MP said her perfomance since her entering into Parliament would influence delegates to choose her once more.

”I have about five people contesting me but I am not so much worried about it because I know the good people of North Dayi, they are always rewarding, they give out to those who give back to them. So, I know they will vote for me because I have performed.”

Joycelyn Tetteh further indicated that she still alot to offer the people of North Dayi.

Some beneficiaries and parents expressed their delight in the help the MP has given them.

”I thank God for the life of our MP for how he used her to help me for my child to go to school. What she gave me has taken off a heavy burden on me because the money I will use to buy these stuffs will be used to buy other things,” a parent told Starr News.

Miss Alberta Semordzi, a beneficiary also said,  “what she gave me, my mom will not buy it again. Me too, when I go to school, I will go and learn hard so that, in my future, I will also work for the government.”
