The leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has issued a directive prohibiting all members and prospective aspirants from engaging in any form of campaigning or solicitation of support for internal positions until official nominations are formally opened.
In a press release dated Wednesday, May 14, 2025, and signed by General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong, the party emphasized that no individual is allowed to approach party executives or structures with campaign intentions at this stage. The directive applies to all levels of the party nationwide.
The move, according to the statement, is part of the party’s commitment to ensuring fairness and order in its internal electoral processes. The leadership warned that premature campaigning not only undermines the authority of party structures but also disrupts strategic efforts aimed at repositioning the party for success in the 2028 general elections.
“We therefore urge all members, supporters, and stakeholders to fully cooperate with this directive and refrain from any activities that could compromise party unity or the integrity of our processes,” the statement read.
The party also reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, inclusiveness, fairness, and due process, assuring members that it will provide timely updates on timelines and nomination guidelines when the process officially begins.
The NPP called for continued support as it works toward building a stronger and more united party.
