President John Dramani Mahama has revoked the appointment of Anne Sansa Daly as a member of the Board of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), with immediate effect.
A letter from the Office of the President, dated May 23, 2025, and signed by Secretary to the President Celestus Mahama, confirmed the decision. In her place, the President has appointed Prof. Dr. (Med) Ernest Yorke as the new board member.
The Ministry of Health has been instructed to facilitate Prof. Yorke’s swearing-in.
Although the official communication did not disclose the reason for Anne Sansa Daly’s removal, recent concerns have surfaced regarding her professional credentials, particularly questions surrounding her eligibility to practice medicine in Ghana.

Her successor, Prof. Yorke, is a seasoned medical practitioner and former Greater Accra Regional Chair of the Ghana Medical Association. He is widely respected in the health sector and viewed as a qualified and capable addition to the NHIA board.
The NHIA board plays a key role in overseeing Ghana’s National Health Insurance Scheme, which aims to provide equitable and affordable access to quality healthcare services for all residents.
