QNET welcomes convictions in the Ghana Human Trafficking scam that Misused Its Name

Global lifestyle and wellness company QNET has commended the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) for its swift action in dismantling a human trafficking and recruitment scam that falsely operated under the company’s name.

Six individuals were convicted by the Madina District Court on September 2, 2025, after pleading guilty to offences linked to a trafficking ring run through an unauthorised office under Mintsrifi Company Limited. They were sentenced to three months’ imprisonment, fined, and ordered deported upon completion of their sentences.

The operation followed a tip-off and formal report from QNET’s compliance consultant in Kumasi, whose findings led to a GIS raid in August 2025. Victims were rescued from the premises, marking one of the first successful convictions from a series of complaints filed by the company.

“This is a major step forward in the fight against criminal groups who misuse the QNET name to deceive the public,” said Biram Fall, Deputy Chairman for QNET Sub-Saharan Africa. “We’re grateful to the Ghana Immigration Service for their professionalism and decisive response. Justice has been served, and the message is clear — fraud will not be tolerated.”

QNET stressed that it operates a legitimate direct selling business model, empowering individuals to promote its products transparently and ethically. Any form of deception or exploitation, the company said, is strictly prohibited under its Code of Conduct for independent representatives.

Over recent years, the company has ramped up compliance operations in Ghana and across West Africa, introducing training programmes, reporting channels, and joint enforcement efforts to prevent fraud.

“Our collaboration with regulators and law enforcement is stronger than ever,” Fall added. “We move quickly to investigate and report any misuse of our brand, because protecting consumers and our reputation is our top priority.”

In 2024 alone, QNET took 298 disciplinary actions against representatives found violating its code and has lodged 35 official complaints in 2025. Its ‘QNET Against Scams’ campaign continues to educate the public about fake job offers and investment schemes exploiting the company’s identity.

Earlier this month, QNETs collaboration with the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) led to the arrest of six suspects and rescue of 24 victims from a similar operation in Kasoa, Central Region.

The company urges the public to stay alert and verify any opportunity claiming affiliation with QNET by contacting its Compliance Hotline via WhatsApp at ‪+233 2566 30005 or email network.integrity@qnet.net
