The Military Police have arrested Williams Mensah, the soldier caught on CCTV physically assaulting a pharmacy attendant and a female customer at a pharmacy near Burma Camp, Accra.
The video, first circulated by GHOne TV on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, shows Mensah engaging in a heated argument with the pharmacist before striking both the pharmacist and a female customer. The woman, who attempted to record the incident on her phone, was hit multiple times, after which the soldier continued to assault the pharmacist.
The arrest comes after widespread public outrage over the video. Williams Mensah has been taken into custody for questioning and further investigation. Details of potential charges or next steps have not yet been disclosed.
This marks the first formal action by authorities following the assault, amid calls for accountability and professional conduct within the military.
