Dr. Adutwum’s presidency will be a duty call, not ‘politics’ – Yaw Opoku Mensah

Yaw Opoku Mensah says Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum’s potential presidency would be a national duty, not a political ambition.

Yaw Opoku Mensah, spokesperson for former Education Minister and NPP flagbearer hopeful Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has expressed strong confidence in his boss’s leadership qualities, describing his potential election as president as a “duty call” rather than a political pursuit.

Speaking on The Verdict on Starr 103.5 FM, hosted by Isaac Addae, on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, Opoku Mensah passionately urged Ghanaians especially members and sympathisers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to rally behind Dr. Adutwum, who is also the MP for Bosomtwe Constituency, describing him as a visionary leader capable of transforming national development agenda.

“We can change the course of history when we believe in that light,” he said. “By Ghana’s centenary in 2057, every citizen will understand that Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum’s election as president was not a partisan matter but a national duty.”

Using the Accra STEM Academy as an example, Opoku Mensah praised Dr. Adutwum’s vision of replicating modern, quality education infrastructure nationwide. He noted that such initiatives eliminate the long-standing inequality between private and public schooling.

“When I passed the Accra STEM Academy, I asked myself if we can replicate this across Ghana, why should parents have to worry about quality? Under Dr. Adutwum’s leadership, choosing between schools should be about preference, not availability,” he stated.

He further emphasized that the Bosomtwe MP’s track record of innovation and reform shows his commitment to building a nation where excellence is not limited to privilege but becomes accessible to all.

“Dr. Adutwum represents competence, vision, and transformation,” Opoku Mensah concluded. “His leadership is the kind Ghana needs one rooted in purpose, not politics.”
