The Electoral Commission (EC) supervised the rerun across 19 polling stations on Friday, July 11, to resolve outstanding collation and verification issues from the December 2024 general elections.
Eighteen of the 37 originally disputed polling stations had their results certified earlier, necessitating a fresh vote in the remaining 19 to complete the process.
Despite an official NPP boycott, Nana Akua Afriyie participated in the rerun, stating her commitment to defend her mandate after a court dismissed her injunction request.
With more results expected, attention remains on whether Ewurabena Aubynn’s early lead will secure the NDC a final victory and end months of electoral uncertainty in the constituency.
