The Ghana Armed Forces has directed that all potential recruits in Accra for the 2025/2026 recruitment exercise who have not yet undergone documentation and body selection report exclusively to El-Wak Sports Stadium.
All other recruitment centres in the city will remain closed, according to a statement from the Department of Public Relations at General Headquarters, Burma Camp.
The directive follows last week’s tragic stampede at El-Wak Stadium, which claimed the lives of six young women and left 28 others injured.
In response, President John Dramani Mahama ordered a full, independent investigation, and the GAF replaced the entire Greater Accra recruitment team to ensure safety and transparency.
The armed forces have assured that all injured recruits will continue to receive free medical care, and special support packages will be provided to the families of the deceased and the injured.
The GAF stressed the importance of strict compliance with the new instructions to ensure an orderly and safe recruitment process and called on all applicants to cooperate fully.
