ADK Consortium – a professional team of architects, quantity surveyors, civil and service engineers, specialists in infrastructure development –  after a series of philanthropic initiatives last year,  has announced its readiness to support underprivileged persons in society on an annual basis.

Ing. Michael Krakue, Chairman of ADK Consortium, disclosed this during an interaction with a section of the media on the groups’ plan for the 2017 financial year.

He also outlined the group’s corporate social investment plan for 2017.

“Last December, we gave a reason to several people to be happy and celebrate the birth of Christ with joy and excitement. We demonstrated the true meaning of Christmas through our serious of donations as part of an initiative dubbed as The ADK Gifts of Hope Project. It was a life changing experience not only for the beneficiaries, but for members of ADK Consortium as well who saw how our support touched the lives of people,” he said.

As part of the group’s plans for the year, they will be officially launching “The ADK Gifts of Hope Project” and will explore strategic ways of reaching out to more people in order to make a meaningful impact on their lives. The scope of the project will also be expanded to include supporting the trade and careers of deserving individuals in addition to donations to orphanages and hospitals.

Last year, a team from ADK Consortium led by Project Administrator, Frimpomaa A. Ayim and Human Resources Manager, Marklina Dadzie, commenced the project with a visit to the children’s ward of the Accra Psychiatric Hospital, located at Asylum Down. They were there to put smiles on the faces of the children and also to ascertain the needs of the patients. The team presented to the hospital assorted items including bags of rice, gallons of soyabean oil, boxes of biscuits, cartons of milo and powdered milk, toilet-rolls, powdered soap, boxes of Indomie, washing and bathing soaps, Dettol, canned fish and soft drinks.

The team proceeded to the Potters Village Orphanage, located at Dodowa to also make a donation to the orphanage. Items donated to the management of the Orphanage included gallons of soyabean oil, bags of rice, boxes of biscuits, crates of soft drinks, cartons of milo, powdered milk, toilet-rolls, boxes of Indomie, toiletries, Dettol and canned fish.

After the donation, the children entertained the ADK team with choreography performances and songs to express their joy and gratitude for the kind gesture.  The ADK team encouraged them to think positive about their future and not to allow their environment to affect them negatively.  They were motivated to believe in themselves, aim for greatness and strive to achieve excellence in all their endeavors.

Management of ADK Consortium has indicated its commitment to the annual charity project and believes that the needy and underprivileged children in society can have a bright future if given the needed support and assistance.
