Former Head of National Signals Bureau(NSB), Kwabena Adu Boahene has suffered yet another setback in his attempt to defend himself in the ongoing Cybersecurity Software scandal in which the former security chief is alleged to have stolen GHc49.1 million belonging to the National Signals Bureau.

On Monday April 20, 2026 during the cross examination of the second prosecution witness, Ruby Edith Adumuah, Lawyers for Adu Boahene sought to tender in receipt of a swift transfer by Adu Boahen’s private company, Advantage Solutions in a manner that appeared that the reciept emanated from the NSB. Defence therefore sought to use that document as the basis to interrogate the Witness, Head of Finance of the NSB.

However, the Prosecution led by the Deputy Attorney General raised an objection to that arguing that the witness has no personal knowledge of the document as same did not emanate from her and therefore could not be made to answer to that. He added that the document in any case was irrelavent to the issue at hand and prayed the court to reject same.

The defence in response argued that since the witness is testifying to financial matters and has properly identified the document as a Swift transfer receipt she could be made to speak to it.

The Court Presided over by His Lordship Justice Francis Achibonga after listening to Counsel ruled sustaining the objection on the basis that the witness had no personal knowledge of the document and in her identification of the document had used the word “seem” creating doubt about her accurate knowledge of the document.
