The Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza, says he is confident that President John Dramani Mahama will deliver the biggest-ever interventions on Ghana’s road network and bridges.
Speaking on State of Affairs with Joshua Kodjo Mensah on Monday, January 26, 2026, Mr. Agbodza highlighted the government’s commitment to completing ongoing road projects and maintaining infrastructure through dedicated maintenance contracts.
“Every road, every big push road we are investing in, there will be a tolling policy on it because we need to raise money to start maintaining that road immediately when it’s done. Because we are intending to have a maintenance contract on every road that is completed,” he said.
He expressed strong confidence in the president’s vision for infrastructure development. “I have no doubt that he is going to be the president that did the biggest ever intervention on the road network bridges in our country. I will never forget about him.”
Mr. Agbodza also pointed to transformative projects such as the Accra-Kumasi Expressway, which he described as central to the administration’s road development agenda.
“Imagine President Mahama building Accra-Kumasi Expressway over 200 kilometres. That will be the transformation. The reset that encompasses his vision.”
