Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei-Mensah has lauded the performance of the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government, declaring it the best-performing administration under the 1992 Constitution.
Speaking on GHOne TV with Serwaa Amihere, Hon. Osei-Mensah asserted that “Under the 1992 constitutional democratic dispensation, no government has performed better than the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia government.”
He acknowledged former President J.A. Kufuor’s administration as the closest in terms of performance.
“The next person who comes very close to the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government is President Kufuor,” he stated.
Mr. Osei-Mensah attributed the current government’s success to its learning from and improving upon the strengths and weaknesses of previous administrations, particularly that of President Kufuor.
“If you study somebody, you’ll study the strengths and weaknesses of the person and improve upon it,” he noted.
Mr. Osei-Mensah is notable for serving continuously in the same ministerial position throughout both terms of President Akufo-Addo’s government.
His strong endorsement underscores the ruling party’s efforts to highlight its achievements in the lead-up to the 2024 election.
