Entertainment analyst, Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo, has provided insight into how the newly established creative arts and film funds will be managed, while warning of potential challenges in distributing the funds fairly.
Speaking on Starr Showbiz with Feeling Daddy on Starr 103.5 FM on Saturday, November 15, 2025, Arnold, who is also the board chairman of the Ghana Music Awards USA, explained that the National Film Authority (NFA) will oversee the film fund, with clear legal guidelines specifying which entities are eligible. “The NFA is lucky because who qualifies for the film fund is stipulated in the law. They don’t need to stress over how to disburse it,” he said, noting that this will simplify administration and ensure transparency.
By contrast, the Creative Arts Agency, tasked with managing the creative arts fund, may face more challenges in determining who qualifies for support. Arnold explained, “When it comes to the creative arts fund, we may have difficulty because it’s not entirely clear in the law who qualifies to get the fund. The agency will have to figure that out carefully.”
He emphasised that both funds are critical for supporting Ghana’s creative industries, including music, film, fashion, and other sectors. Arnold urged that proper structures and oversight must be implemented to ensure that disbursement is fair, transparent, and reaches the intended beneficiaries.

“The creation of these funds is a positive step for the sector,” he said. “But accountability and careful management will determine whether these allocations translate into real support for artists and associations across the country.”
