Ghana’s inflation rate has dropped to its lowest level in four years, falling from 12.1% in July 2025 to 11.5% in August, according to the Ghana Statistical Service.
Government Statistician, Dr. Alhassan Iddrisu, who presented the figures at a press briefing on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, noted that this marks the eighth straight month of decline and pushes inflation below the government’s end-of-year target of 11.9%.
Food and non-alcoholic beverages remained the largest drivers of inflation, though their rate eased slightly from 15.1% in July to 14.8% in August.
At the regional level, the Upper West Region continued to record the highest inflation at 21.8%, down from 24.8% the previous month. The Central Region registered the lowest at 8.9%, up from 7.7% in July.
Dr. Iddrisu stressed that the decline signals improving price stability, offering relief to households and businesses across the country.
