Delegates in Manhyia South Constituency in the Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi have elected lawyer Nana Adjei Baffuor Bawah as the party’s Parliamentary candidate to lead the party into elections 2024 at the constituency level.
This follows the appointment of the Constituency’s Parliamentary Candidate (PC) Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh appointed as Vice Presidential candidate to the party’s flagbearer Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia.
At least about 568 delegates were expected to elect a new representative for the party in the party on December 7th, 2024 Parliamentary election.
Candidates that participated in the election include Nana Owusu Afriyie Agyemang Prempeh, the younger brother of sitting MP and Energy Minister; Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, James Owusu Boakye and Akwasi Coker Gyambibi.
Akwasi Coker Gyembibi a direct royal from Manhyia Palace paid nothing to influence delegates for their votes.
After the close of the ballot Lawyer Nana Baffour Adjei Bawah won the election with 376 votes.
Nana Owusu Afriyie Prempeh secured 141 votes, James Boakye also had 7 while Akwasi Coker Gyembibi had two votes.
