Confusion and frustration gripped the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) Hall in Accra on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, as hundreds of parents and their children besieged the venue to resolve issues with this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) placement.
Many complained of their wards being posted to schools far from home, while others had not been placed at all despite meeting the required grades.

At the self-placement center, families endured long queues and hours of waiting, with some alleging errors in the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS).
One parent told GHOne TV that her daughter, who scored aggregate 12, was placed in her fourth-choice school instead of a boarding option. Similar concerns echoed across the hall, with parents demanding fairness and transparency.

The process at the center has been described as slow and stressful as parents submit slips to officials but often leave without answers, anxiously waiting for a follow-up call that could determine their child’s academic path.

Meanwhile, government officials have already assured that all placement challenges will be addressed before senior high schools reopen on October 18.
