Black Avenue Music celebrates 15-years of excellence in Ghanaian music

Black Avenue Music, a groundbreaking record label in Ghana, is thrilled to mark 15 years of excellence in talent discovery, artist development, and chart-topping productions that have left an indelible mark on the country’s music landscape.

Founded by the esteemed artiste and entrepreneur Desmond Blackmore also known as D-Black in 2009, Black Avenue Music has been a driving force behind the evolution of modern Ghanaian music, shaping the sound of a generation.

Throughout its 15-year journey, Black Avenue Music has consistently produced an impressive string of hits while simultaneously discovering, developing, and propelling the careers of various talented artists to stardom.

Black Avenue Music has played a key role in launching the careers of some of Ghana’s most revered artists, including Dee Money, Joey B, S3ta, DJ Breezy, Freda Rhymz, and many others, who have gone on to become icons in the music industry.

Since its founding, the label has been at the forefront of shaping Ghana’s musical landscape, pioneering genres like Gh Rap, Hiplife, and Afrobeats with a string of groundbreaking releases that have left an indelible mark on the industry.

The label is responsible for some of the most iconic and enduring hits in Ghanaian music history, including Joey B’s

‘Tonga’, Sefa’s ‘Echoke’, and D-Black’s

‘Personal Person’ and ‘Seihor’. These timeless classics not only topped local charts but also garnered international recognition, propelling Ghana’s music industry onto the global stage and cementing the label’s reputation as a powerhouse in African music.

Black Avenue Music’s dedication to talent development has been the driving force behind its success. By consistently identifying and cultivating new talent, the label has empowered countless young artists to realize their potential, achieve recognition, and reach stardom.

As the label marks its 15th anniversary, it will honor the remarkable stories of these artists, tracing their evolution from raw talent to industry icons and celebrating the label’s pivotal role in their rise to fame.

The 15th-anniversary celebration of Black Avenue Music will feature a series of events and activations that showcase the label’s rich history and creative journey. The festivities will begin with “The Legacy Series,” a documentary that takes fans on a journey through the label’s most iconic moments, revealing the untold stories and challenges that have led to the creation of its most beloved songs and artists. This unique look into the label’s past will highlight the triumphs and creative processes that have made Black Avenue Music a powerhouse in the industry.
