Black Stars technical advisor Winfried Schäfer has stressed the importance of teamwork over individual brilliance as Ghana aims for a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Leveraging his extensive experience, Schäfer highlighted Argentina’s 2022 World Cup victory, emphasizing how Lionel Messi excelled through a team-first mentality.
“The best teams win, not the best players. Look at Argentina in Qatar they played for each other and for Messi,” he noted.
Schäfer emphasized that Ghana’s squad must embrace the same team-first mentality.
“Whether you play for Arsenal or Real Madrid, when you wear the Ghana shirt, you must be proud and fight together.”
With crucial qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar this month, the German tactician insists that unity will be key.
“Teamwork and discipline will take us far. Everyone, players, staff, and management must work as one.”
