When was the last time you stopped at your favorite supermarket or corner store to carefully read the contents and ingredients of the food you buy? Be it rice, milk, wheat, yogurt, or even that occasional ice cream treat?

One way to lead a healthy lifestyle is to eat food that provides optimum nutrition and sustains your energy levels throughout the day. Food is key for our daily existence since it fuels us up and keeps us going every day.

The food we eat every day contains important nutrients such as proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals which are vital. These nutrients play an important role to keep our bodies healthy, especially our little ones.

Good nutrition among children is essential for their growth and development and can also help establish a foundation for lifelong healthy eating habits and nutritional knowledge.

However, chances are your child might not be eating enough of these crucial nutrients. One of the ways to reduce dietary deficiencies among children is the approach of using fortified foods which are enriched with the necessary vitamins and minerals which has the potential to improve growth.

One may ask, what is food fortification? This takes me back to the first question on the ingredients and contents of the food we purchase.

Fortification is simply the practice of increasing the content of an essential micronutrient, i.e. vitamins and minerals in food to improve the nutritional quality of the food supply and to provide a public health benefit with minimal risk to health.

Fortified foods can fill certain nutrient gaps. These foods are meant to improve nutrition and add health benefits. Fortified food ranges from breakfast cereals, bread, milk, to beverages among others.

The COVID-19 pandemic which hit the world globally made us even become more aware of the need to support our immunity with proper nutrition in fighting diseases. This is evidence that our immune system plays a key role in the overall health of the human body.

Health experts continue to advise that one of the keys to a healthy immune system is eating right and maintaining a balanced diet. Deficiencies in nutrition can make us predisposed to viruses and bacteria, that’s why it is important to eat nutritional foods.

These days nutrition-on-the-go provides a simple way to make healthier choices while out and about.

It is commendable that FanMilk Ghana, a Danone Company, has introduced the newest and yummiest yogurt in town fortified with key nutrients intake.

This NutriDay yogurt is a healthy source of Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin) for energy, Vitamin B6 which supports the immune system, Vitamin A for good eyesight, Zinc which supports your immune system, and Calcium for Healthy muscles and strong bones.

What stands out is that NutriDay is packed with Zinc, a nutrient that supports the immune system. The good news is that, not only is it nutritious food, but it is equally easy to consume. This means all members of the family get to benefit by drinking this readily available food that contains nutrients to keep the immune system working well.

NutriDay is the new yogurt that promises to keep the family healthy and strong every day.  Every household, especially those with children is encouraged to stock up on NutriDay, that way, they never run out of this amazing product that supports your immune system on the go!
