The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research-Science and Technology Policy Research Institute (CSIR-STEPR) is holding a two-day workshop aimed at enhancing inter-entity partnerships within the research space.
The event, which is being attended by both local and international organizations is set to feature discussions on key challenges, explore transformative ways of bolster partnerships among innovative entities.
Director of CSIR-STEPRI, Dr. Wilhelmina Quaye, who delivered remarks welcoming participants, said she was pleased with the opportunity to collaborate in areas of interest to maximize productivity.
She underscored the need for industrial research institutions to stay engaged in the governing process in order to be well placed to impact policy making.
“We are here today to build stronger connections in innovation which is very critical in fostering collaboration, sharing resources, influencing policies and above all contributing to economic growth. Together we can make progress in ways that are both inclusive and impact,” she averred.
Dr. Quaye said the workshop was not merely a meeting of representatives from countries but a unified force aimed as shaping the future through knowledge sharing and partnerships.
She noted that CSIR-STEPRI had been conducting research in various sectors of the economy of which science and technology were included.
The director said the studies were meant to find solutions to national and societal challenges.
