Three persons sustained injuries when fire gutted wooden stores close to the Oda branch of Multi credit in the Eastern Region.
About 11 wooden stores were razed down by the fire destroying several paints and building materials.
The Injured were asleep in the stores when the fire outbreak occurred.
The cause of the incident not yet established but it is suspected that some smokers may have caused the fire because they usually gather to smoke in the area in the evening.
Others also claim some seamstresses close by might have left naked fire causing the outbreak.
Officials of the Birim Central Municipal National Disaster Management Organization, Fire Service, the Municipal Police Command have visited the scene .
Speaking to Starr News, the Birim Central Municipal Coordinator of NADMO Mohammed Nurudin said the incident occurred Tuesday dawn at about 2am.
He confirmed three persons got injured out of which one is “very serious” .
Assessment of the items destroyed is being done by staff of the organization while investigation into the cause of the incident is underway .
Meanwhile, the Eastern Regional Secretariat of the National Disaster Management Organization is to intensify public education on bushfires and fire outbreaks as the harmattan sets in.
