Award-winning Ghanaian journalist and Managing News Editor for EIB Network’s English Cluster (GHOne TV and Starr FM), Alice Aryeetey, has been selected among ten outstanding journalists across the world as a 2025 International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP) Media Fellow.
The ICFP Media Fellowship, coordinated by the Family Planning News Network (FPNN), brings together journalists committed to advancing accurate, human-centered reporting on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). This year’s fellows were selected from India, Venezuela, Ghana, the United States, Kenya, Ukraine, the Philippines, Côte d’Ivoire, Ecuador, and the United States.
As part of the fellowship, Alice will travel to Bogotá, Colombia, to join global conversations at the 2025 International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP).
The conference, which convenes policymakers, advocates, researchers, and journalists, serves as the world’s largest scientific and advocacy gathering on family planning and reproductive health.

During the week-long event, Alice will produce stories from Bogotá highlighting key discussions on women’s health, gender justice, and youth empowerment; issues that have defined much of her over decade-long journalism career.
According to her, “Family planning and reproductive health remain central to achieving equity and inclusion, especially for women and girls with disabilities. I look forward to amplifying these voices on the world stage.”
Alice Aryeetey has over thirteen (13) years of experience in journalism, focusing on the inclusiveness, development, and wellbeing of women and girls, particularly those living with disabilities.
She has won multiple awards, including the GJA Award for Best TV News Reporter and Best SDGs Reporter (2019), and the GJA Award for Best Journalist in Reporting on Disability (2015). She was also named Ghana’s Most Promising Young Journalist of the Year (2018) and shortlisted by the Thomson Foundation and the UK Foreign Press Association for the Young Journalist Award the same year.

As a Mandela Washington Fellow, Alice uses her media platform and nonprofit initiatives to advocate for more inclusive social policies. She supports girls with disabilities and their families, empowering them to live more independently, while promoting menstrual hygiene and empowerment among young girls in schools across Ghana.
