EIB NETWORK to partner NAFTI in media Training

EIB Network Ltd, a leading media group has expressed commitment in supporting the National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI) in the training and development of media students.

In a discussion with a delegation from NAFTI, the CEO of EIB Network, Nat Kwabena Adisi praised NAFTI for the quality training it offers students and the massive impact that graduates from NAFTI have made in media production and management in Ghana.

The proposed agreement between the two institutions will cover sharing of audio visual facilities, industrial expertise and knowledge, Content sharing and Marketing. Mr Adisi noted that NAFTI needs all the support it can get from the industry and EIB Network will be happy to open its doors to NAFTI student and help them aquire the needed industrial knowledge and experience. Mr Adisi urged NAFTI to be more vibrant in marketing itself, engage in thought leadership programmes and relaunch “Time with NAFTI” to boost the image is the institute with the support of EIB Network.

The Chairperson of the Board of Directors of NAFTI Juliet Asante was full of praise for the impressive work EIB Network has done the the few years of existence and massive infrastructural investment into radio and Television. She said NAFTI is in its 40th year and it is important for the industry to see NAFTI is a worthy development partner to engage in mutually beneficial agreements.

The General Manager of GHOne TV Astus Kwasi Ahiagble, who is also President of NAFTI Alumni Association, impressed upon the management of NAFTI to take advantage of the opportunities offered by EIB Network to improve quality of training with modern equipments, facilities and techniques. He said there is the need for media trainers to be well abreast with current industry trends to ensure training is consistent with the fast changing media techniques and technology.

The Rector of NAFTI, Dr Samuel Nai expressed his gratitude fir the feed back received on the performance of NAFTI graduates in the industry and assured the management of EIB Network the feed back will help NAFTI to improve on their curriculum and to better serve the industry’s need in human resources.

The National Film and Television Institute was established by the government of Ghana in 1978 to provide quality professional training in film and television. It currently offers Bachelor’s degree, Diploma and Certificate courses in various disciplines in Film, Television and Media studies. As part of Activities marking the 40th Anniversary of NAFTI, the Courtesy call on the management of EIB Network was to familiarize themselves with the operations of GHOne TV and to seek feedback on the performance of NAFTI graduates in the industry.

The delegation from NAFTI compromised of members of the Board of Directors and Management staff, including renowned Filmmaker Mr Ivan Quashigah and Dean of Studies Dr Ramatu Dadzie.
