Election 2024: NPP will win with 1 million ways – Wontumi

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has expressed confidence that the Ashanti Region will play a decisive role in securing victory for the NPP in the 2024 elections.

Speaking in an interview on GHOne TV with Serwaa Amihere in kumasi Chairman Wontumi said, the warm reception Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has received throughout his campaign activities in the region is both unique and unprecedented.

“Our candidate’s campaign is progressing as expected in the Ashanti Region. Traditional leaders, the clergy, and other professional groups have all received our message and assured us of their votes. We are confident of winning the elections,” he reiterated.

He further stated, “Everyone is aware of the party’s achievements in government, thanks to the expertise brought into President Nana Akufo-Addo’s administration. The data is clear. Mahama cannot compare his achievements to the accomplishments of the Nana Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government.

“When Mahama was vice president, he embarrassed his boss with every task assigned to him.” On the other hand, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has never been investigated for corruption.

Mahama is not clean, and this is why we are urging Ghanaians to vote against him,” he added.

While acknowledging economic challenges, Chairman Wontumi maintained that the government has been working to change the narrative.
“Our major challenges stemmed from external shocks, such as the Russia-Ukraine war and the global COVID-19 pandemic. If not for these, things would have been far better than what we are witnessing today. Even with these external shocks, our worst is better than the NDC’s best,” he stressed.

He lamented that the NPP 85% votes target in the Ashanti remains unchanged and Ashanti region will votes to appreciate the good work the government has done to deliver more for the region.

He said, “NPP is winning the election by air and by road”. He reiterated that the NPP is winning the election because the NPP has one million ways to win this election.

” One of them is free education, and other policies we have initiated that have impacted positively on many Ghanaians. Restoration of teacher trainees allowance among others will do the work for the NPP”.
