Unidentified individuals believed to be supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) launched an attack on the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) head office in Kanda, Ayawaso East Constituency, Greater Accra, on Monday morning.
The thugs demanded that the premises be vacated, marking the second day of the incident, which initially occurred on December 7, resulting in damage to the office and its items.
An eyewitness recounted the events, stating that they received a call informing them of the invasion while they were away voting.
Upon contacting an official, they learned that the intruders had jumped over the wall, stolen items, and attempted to fight the watchman who tried to intervene.
An eyewitness, who spoke with GHOne News, recounted the events: “Yesterday, I went to Bawji to vote, and when I got to the airport, I received a call saying some people had invaded our office and were taking things. I contacted one of our officials, who confirmed that individuals had come and taken items. The watchman saw them jumping over the wall, and though he tried to stop them, they fought back.”
Military personnel have been deployed to restore peace, but officials are calling for enhanced security measure
