The Foundation for Generational Thinkers (FOGET) in partnership with the Ghana National Association of Private Schools (GNAPS) Greater  Accra Zone ‘5’ has organized a summit to prepare the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates ahead of their final exams Monday.

The summit titled “PASSCODE 2018” had about 50 schools attending and with about 1000 candidates all from Mamprobi and its environs.

Mr Anthony Kofitse, former Head of Test Development Division, West Africa Examination Council (WAEC), urged the candidates in his address to adhere to strict standards and rules to avoid cancellation of their papers.

He also admonished the candidates to critically read and understand the demands of the questions before answering.  He again asked the candidates to pay rapt attention to words such as; list, explain, state, examine, illustrate, describe, analyze, narrate among others.

Mr Kofitse further encouraged the candidates to report to the examination centres on time, adding, “come prepared, so that nothing affects your performance.”

The retired head of the Test Development Division also took them through how marks are allotted to questions among others.

On his part, the President and Founder of FOGET, Prosper Dan Afetsi touched on career paths the candidates can pursue noting that the BECE is just a step on the long academic ladder and that there is more life after the examination.

“Remember those facilities that you enjoyed during your stay in the school were used by others before you and would be used by others after you. As a generational thinker, you don’t create problems for others to solve,” he told them.

Mr Joseph Neequaye, Chair of Greater Accra GNAPS Zone ‘5’  also placed emphasis on the Chief Examiner’s report, urging the candidates to shun fear and anxiety.
