Team Ghana delivered a remarkable performance at the 2025 CAVB Zone 3 Nations Beach Volleyball Championship, held from August 26 to 29, 2025 in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

Ghana secured Gold and Bronze in the Men’s division and a Silver medal in the Women’s category, underscoring the nation’s dominance in beach volleyball within the sub-region.

Ghana entered the 2025 edition with five teams, demonstrating depth and quality across both the men’s and women’s categories. Out of these, two men’s teams and two women’s teams qualified for the semi-finals, marking a historic achievement for the nation. This strong representation ensured Ghana was one of the most competitive nations at the tournament.

The men’s Gold medal was claimed by the duo of Paul Akan and Hameed Ibrahim, both representing the Ghana Police Service. They displayed exceptional teamwork and composure to overcome a resilient Benin side in the final, sealing Ghana’s place at the top of the podium.

Ghana also claimed the Bronze medal in the men’s category through the pairing of Phillip Amissah of the Ghana Police Service and Eric Tsatsu of El-Wak Wings. The pair fought gallantly to defeat Niger in a thrilling playoff, adding another medal to Ghana’s tally and making the nation the most decorated in the men’s competition

In the women’s final, Ghana’s team of Benedicta Akorli of the Ghana Air Force and Juliana Aryee of the Ghana Police Service put up a spirited fight against a strong Nigerian side. Despite their best efforts, the duo settled for the Silver medal, marking another milestone for Ghana women’s beach volleyball.

President of the Ghana Volleyball Federation, Mr. George Tettey Esq., lauded the athletes for their commitment and outstanding achievement, stating:

“This is a historic moment for Ghana volleyball. Winning Gold, Silver, and Bronze at such a competitive championship highlights the progress we are making as a nation. Our players have shown dedication and resilience, and we are confident this success will inspire the next generation of volleyball stars and renewed support for the sports”

The Federation extended its appreciation to the coaching staff, technical team, and supporters whose efforts contributed to this success.
