The Ghana National Gas Company (Ghana Gas) has posted an impressive financial performance for the 2025 financial year, recording a 97 percent increase in net profit, a milestone that underscores the company’s growing contribution to Ghana’s economy and energy sector.

The achievement was highlighted during the company’s 8th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on Friday, July 31, 2026, where shareholders approved the 2025 Annual Report and Audited Financial Statements.

Speaking at the meeting, the Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, praised Ghana Gas for delivering strong operational and financial results despite challenges within the energy sector.

According to the Minister, the company increased its gas processing capacity from 100 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) to 130 MMscfd, while also boosting Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) production. However, it was the company’s near doubling of net profit that stood out as one of the year’s biggest achievements.

He said the strong financial gains reflect Ghana Gas’ commitment to operational efficiency, prudent financial management and its growing role in supporting Ghana’s energy needs.

“The 97 percent growth in net profit demonstrates that Ghana Gas is not only expanding its operations but is also creating greater value for the state and its stakeholders,” the Minister noted.

The Minister added that the company’s improved financial position places it in a stronger position to invest in critical infrastructure, support the government’s Gas-to-Power programme and contribute to industrial growth across the country.

He encouraged the Board and Management to build on the momentum by expanding gas infrastructure, improving operational reliability and pursuing strategic investments that will sustain profitability while meeting Ghana’s increasing energy demand.

The company’s financial strength also received endorsement from its external auditors, KPMG, whose independent audit highlighted Ghana Gas’ success in reducing operational costs, improving efficiency and maintaining sound financial management practices.

These gains, the auditors noted, have strengthened the company’s financial outlook and reinforced its ability to deliver long-term value.

The Minister further reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting Ghana Gas in its expansion agenda and commended the State Interests and Governance Authority for its continued oversight, which has helped improve corporate governance and accountability among state-owned enterprises.

With stronger profits, increased production and improved operational efficiency, Ghana Gas continues to strengthen its position as one of Ghana’s most valuable state-owned enterprises, contributing significantly to energy security, industrialisation and national economic growth.
