Ghana’s ongoing International Monetary Fund (IMF) programme is firmly on track, with the second review successfully completed, according to Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson.
Presenting the 2025 Mid-Year Budget Review in Parliament on Thursday, July 24, Dr. Forson announced that the second review under the IMF-supported Post-COVID-19 Programme for Economic Growth (PC-PEG) was completed in June 2025.
He said the successful outcome of the review has cleared the way for the release of the third tranche of US$360 million from the IMF.
“Mr. Speaker, the IMF-supported programme remains on track. The second review of the programme was successfully completed in June 2025, paving the way for the release of the third tranche of US$360 million,” he stated.
“This is a clear indication that we are progressing steadily and meeting the programme’s performance benchmarks,” the Minister added.

He noted that Ghana is also in line to receive additional budget support from the World Bank and other development partners following the review.
He reassured Parliament that the government remains committed to sustaining the gains achieved under the programme and implementing agreed reforms to consolidate macroeconomic stability.
