The vice presidential candidate for independent presidential candidate Alan Kyerematen, Kwame Danso has urged Ghanaians to embrace change in the upcoming election, arguing that the current political system has failed to deliver on the promises made to the citizenry.
Speaking on Morning Starr with Lily Mohammed, Mr. Danso highlighted the widespread dissatisfaction among Ghanaians with the performance of the two major parties, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He criticized voters for repeatedly supporting these parties despite their perceived failures, encouraging a shift away from this established political paradigm.
“People are peeved, upset, hurt that the system has disappointed them,” Mr. Danso stated, expressing empathy for the frustrations of ordinary Ghanaians. “I’ll blame some of us because we also sat on the fence complaining, but when we are given the opportunity, we pretend as if we do not know the problems we have been facing all these years, and we still go and vote for the NDC and NPP.”
Danso presented the Kyerematen campaign as a vehicle for this much-needed change, urging voters to consider the alternative his ticket represents.
“Now we have an opportunity to change this trajectory that we have been experiencing for the past 32 years. We have been presented with an opportunity; why can’t we explore that opportunity? Why are we afraid to make a change, a real transformational change, a change that will advance Ghana’s progress, a change that will further the aspirations of the youth and the good people of Ghana, a change that will bring relief to our mothers who are selling on the street?” Danso implored.
He emphasized the inherent nature of change and its potential to improve the lives of Ghanaians.
“We have an opportunity; why are we scared? What do we have to lose? We have lost so much under the NDC and NPP, so by making a change, what do we have to lose? The only thing that is constant in life is change,” Danso concluded.
His message serves as a call to action, encouraging voters to consider a new path towards progress and development.
