Governance Expert Prof. Kwame Agyenim-Boateng has commended President John Dramani Mahama for the remarkable strides made in fulfilling key promises within the first 120 days of his administration.
The 26-point social contract focused on the economy, ethical governance and social interventions. This was a central part of President Mahama’s campaign pledge, which helped secure a decisive electoral victory.
Speaking to Starr News, Prof. Agyenim-Boateng said the government’s swift action in implementing various aspects of the contract demonstrates a strong commitment to transparent and responsive leadership.
“I don’t even know where to start because so many important things have been accomplished within the first 120 days, all of which matter greatly to the Ghanaian people. First of all, look at how quickly he was able to form his government. But he didn’t stop there. He stated clearly that it wouldn’t be business as usual. He introduced a code of ethics for his team—something quite unique in our political landscape. ORAL has also played a supportive role.”
“It has been a great 120 days for President Mahama. In my view, everything he promised to do within that period, he has delivered on. I honestly can’t think of one or two things he pledged that haven’t been addressed. I’m not sure there has ever been a government that has shown such preparedness and control from the outset. Overall, I think he has done very well,” he added.
