Christian Home Week Launched with Okaikwei Central MP Patrick Boamah as 2025 Ambassador

The Christian Home Week (CHW) Celebrations have been launched at the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Kuku Hill, Osu, with the MP for Okaikwei Central, Patrick Yaw Boamah, serving as the Ambassador for the 2025 celebrations.

Speaking at the event, the legislator called for the intentional establishment of thriving homes while emphasising the importance of strengthening families and marriages in Ghana.

He shared profound insights on parenting, citing Proverbs 22:6: “It is a powerful reminder that parenting is not just a personal responsibility; it is a spiritual investment in the future. When children are raised in homes where faith is lived out through the word and prayer, they grow up anchored in values that shape their character and guide their decisions.”

He further affirmed the significance of strong family foundations, saying, “Such homes become the training ground for future leaders—men and women who will carry these principles throughout their lifetime.”

As the celebrations continued, the lawmaker encouraged the audience to reflect on the true meaning of marriage.

“As we celebrate marriages, let us remember that the meaningful way is about purpose, a love that lasts, a home that nurtures, and a legacy that inspires,” he said.

The event also featured Christian leaders, representatives from the Registrar General’s Department, and the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, among others.

According to the Christian Council of Ghana, the partnership with the MP aims to strengthen family bonds and promote a culture of love, understanding, and respect. His appointment highlights Hon. Boamah’s dedication to promoting the welfare of humanity, families, and communities through his philanthropic initiatives.

The Chairperson for the occasion and Founder of the Atta Mills Institute, Koku Anyidoho, in his speech, referenced President Trump’s stance on gender, citing Genesis 1:26–27 to support the view that marriage should be between a man and a woman.

Special Guest of Honour, Dr. Fatima Alabo, also emphasized the importance of marriage preparation, urging church leaders to educate everyone on the divine institution of marriage.

“Marriage is a divine institution that should be celebrated with Christ at the centre,” she said.
