The Minister for the Interior, acting on the advice of the National Security Council and through an Executive Instrument, has imposed a curfew on Nalerigu Township and its surrounding communities in the North East Region.
The curfew will run daily from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., effective Thursday, December 18, 2025.
Government has urged chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, youth, and residents to remain calm, exercise restraint, and resolve disputes through peaceful means to help restore and sustain stability in the area.
Additionally, a total ban has been placed on the possession, carrying, and movement of arms, ammunition, and other offensive weapons within Nalerigu and its environs.
Persons found in violation of this directive will be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
