Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu has assured pupils and parents that the government will address the furniture deficit in schools across the country. The Minister gave the assurance during a monitoring tour of the ongoing 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Bono East Region.
The nationwide exams, which commenced today, have over 600,000 candidates participating at various centres. The Minister was accompanied by the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), the Chief Director of the Ministry of Education, and the Bono East Regional Minister, among other officials.
The monitoring tour is part of efforts to ensure the smooth conduct of the examination and to assess the general conditions under which candidates are writing their papers, including infrastructure and logistical needs such as furniture.
