Match week three of the 2021/2022 Ghana Premier League continues this weekend as the premier league table keeps on taking shape.

The weekend’s round of games starts from the Dun’s Park in Bibiani as Gold Stars welcome Asante Kotoko today in what promises to be a crunch encounter. The Porcupines have won their first two games of the season by beating Dreams FC and Bechem United in match week one and week two respectively. On top of the table, Kotoko will meet a side that have not also lost a game this season. Michael Osei’s men beat Berekum Chelsea and drew with Medeama SC in their last two games.

At the Accra Sports stadium on Sunday, reigning champions, Hearts of Oak will battle it out with Aduana Stars as both clubs are winless in their first two games. Hearts drew with Legon Cities and WAFA while Aduana drew with Karela and lost to King Faisal. In their last five encounters, the Phobians have won a game while the Ogya Boys have won twice with two games ending in draws.

In Bechem, Bechem United will be seeking their second win of the season as they face the fearsome Elmina Sharks. In their last five encounters, Elmina Sharks have won twice while Bechem United have won one with the rest of the games ending in draw. However, Bechem United have never lost a game at home against Elmina Sharks.

It will be a regional derby in the Ashanti region as King Faisal welcome Ashantigold. King Faisal have a hundred percent win record in the Ghana Premier league this season. Second on the table with the same points as Asante Kotoko, they have won all two games as they triumphed over Aduana Stars and WAFA. Ashantigold on the other hand have also not lost a game. King Faisal have however not won a game against Ashgold in their last five meetings with the miners winning two while they shared points in three games.
