President John Dramani Mahama has appointed four additional deputy ministers, bringing the total number of ministerial appointments in his government to 60.
In a formal communication dated Wednesday, July 9, and addressed to the Speaker of Parliament, the nominations were submitted in accordance with Articles 78(1) and 79(1) of the 1992 Constitution.
The latest appointments involve four sitting Members of Parliament, who have been selected to support sector ministers in key areas of national development, including health, foreign affairs, transport, and communications.
The new appointees:
- Dorcas Toffey (MP for Jomoro) – Deputy Minister for Transport
- James Gyakye Quayson (MP for Assin North) – Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs
- Mohammed Adam Sukparu (MP for Sissala West) – Deputy Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations
- Prof. Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah (MP for Essikado-Ketan) – Deputy Minister for Health
The announcement was confirmed in a statement signed by Government Communications Minister and Presidential Spokesperson, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, who described the appointments as strategic placements aimed at boosting governance delivery across critical sectors.
With this latest batch, President Mahama is expected to finalize the full complement of his ministerial structure, subject to the approval of Parliament.
