President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has passionately appealed to staff of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority and the Ghana Revenue Authority to ensure that the revenue targets projected by government are achieved.
Addressing Staff of the Long Room of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority who are essentially responsible for the revenue generated by the State through the Tema Port, Mr. Akufo Addo said their work is central to the country’s success.
He admonished the long room staff to eschew all forms of shady deals and guide the avenues of Public funds generation they have oversight of.
The president made this known on his first day of his three day tour of the Greater Accra region.
Meanwhile, the president has hailed the ongoing Tema Port Expansion Project as a Major Intervention to Accelerate Ghana’s Development in the current competitive business world.
The President as part of his tour visited the Offices of the Meridian Port Services (MPS), the Tema Port Expansion Project site, and the Long Room of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA).
Addressing Staff and Management of the MPS after a short presentation of the full component of the 1.5 billion dollar port expansion project, Mr. Akufo-Addo said the new port will be a state of the art facility that will be capable of receiving the biggest vessels in the world, making it a very important project in the history of the country.
