Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment and the National Youth Organiser for National Democratic Congress, George Opare Addo, has assured Ghanaians of his commitment to serving all citizens, regardless of political affiliation.
Speaking on GHOne TV Hard Talk show with Serwaa Amihere, the minister emphasized his role as a national leader dedicated to youth development.
“When I get to the NDC office, I am the National Youth Organiser. But when I leave and sit at the ministry, I am the Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, and I am there to serve every Ghanaian irrespective of which political party you belong to,” Opare Addo stated.
He reiterated his open-door policy, urging all Ghanaians with interests or contributions to youth development to engage with his ministry. “Any Ghanaian who thinks and believes they have something to do with the ministry, my doors are open. I am there to serve Ghanaians, not one political party.”
His comments come amidst ongoing concerns about a viral video where his deputy said he will prioritize the NDC youth. However, Opare Addo’s remarks seek to dispel such concerns and reassure the public of his dedication to national service.
The Ministry for Youth Development and Empowerment remains a crucial institution for addressing the aspirations and challenges of young people in Ghana.
