Ghana’s coach, Otto Addo, has revealed that he spoke to Black Stars captain Andre Ayew and informed him of his decision to leave him out of his squad for the World Cup qualifiers with Mali and the Central African Republic in June.
The Ghana captain was left out by coach Otto Addo, who is back in charge for a second stint after leading the team to the last World Cup in Qatar.
Addressing the media on why he left André Ayew, Otto Addo said the decision was the best for the future of the team. He further revealed that he spoke personally to André Ayew about his decision.
“I spoke to Dede about my decision. He is a legend, and it was a difficult decision to make. However, it was a collective decision. Even though he didn’t totally agree,” Otto Addo said.
