Member of Parliament for Assin South, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour has criticised what he describes as politically motivated attacks against him over his anti-LGBTQ+ advocacy.
Rev. Ntim Fordjour has come under public scrutiny following allegations made by social media influencer Angel Maxine, who accused him of having a sexual affair.
Speaking to Starr News, the NPP MP claimed the attacks are state-sponsored and form part of a deliberate attempt to undermine the Christian community.
“Why was I singled out? That is where the political motivation comes in. Why was I singled out? Why were no NDC members; equally vocal Members of Parliament who are co-sponsors of this bill; mentioned or targeted in any way in this smear campaign? Why was it selective? Why was the pastor among the sponsors the one singled out for attack?
“There appears to be a coordinated attack on Christianity, and a coordinated attempt by this government to silence any Christian moral voice that stands to speak against its ills. We have spoken against what we describe as LGBT-related tendencies and sponsorship.
“I spoke against the fact that, through this curriculum, certain content has been introduced and taught in our schools. You can refer to page 3 and read Week 1 to see what has been presented to our girls and boys. There is a government-sponsored attack, allegedly supported by a lawyer who is a notable member of the NDC and a visible figure in the government delegation to the United Nations General Assembly.

“There was also a sponsored attack on the Chairman of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) and the Chairman of the Church of Pentecost. That attack on Apostle Dr. Eric Nyamekye was not only an attack on him personally but also on the Church of Pentecost, the GPCC, and the wider Christian community. It was an attack on moral voices within the Christian community and on members of the clergy. In the same way, the attack that was allegedly sponsored by the NDC and government is also an attack on my person.”
