Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City, Accra has reinforced its commitment to community well-being and environmental stewardship with a road safety campaign for cyclists, held as part of the hotel’s 10-year anniversary celebration.
The initiative, dubbed “Kempinski Saves at Night”, forms part of the hotel’s 10 Acts of Kindness programme. On Thursday, August 25, the luxury five-star hotel distributed torch lights and reflector vests to more than 100 bicycle riders, highlighting its dedication to promoting safety and sustainability.
The activity sought to improve road safety for cyclists, who are increasingly turning to bicycles as a sustainable means of transport amid growing concerns about emissions, climate change, and traffic safety. High-visibility gear, Kempinski noted, is a simple but effective way to protect cyclists and encourage more people to adopt eco-friendly transport options.

Hotel staff, community members, and cycling enthusiasts joined the campaign, which also included a safety briefing on obeying traffic rules, using protective equipment, and staying alert on the road.
In addition to distributing safety gear, Kempinski is actively promoting sustainable transportation by encouraging the use of bamboo bicycles, which offer a low-carbon alternative to traditional models and contribute to reducing the carbon footprint.
“At Kempinski, we believe that safety and sustainability go hand in hand. By equipping cyclists with the tools they need and promoting eco-friendly alternatives, we’re not just making our roads safer today, but we’re also investing in a healthier planet for tomorrow,” said Hotel Manager, Etienne Joguin.
