Ishaq Ibrahim, a member of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Legal Directorate, has insisted that the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the Kpandai parliamentary election results is final, dismissing any calls by the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) for a review.
Speaking on GHToday with Joshua Kodjo Mensah on GHOne TV on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, Ibrahim described the Supreme Court’s 4-1 ruling as “sound” and warned that attempts to challenge it would be futile.
“The Supreme Court judgment is sound. The NDC should not put more stress on the guy by going for any review because review is a hopeless exercise,” he said, referring to the winning candidate, Hon. Matthew Nyindam. He explained that even under convention, additional judges would be added for a review, making it extremely difficult to overturn the original decision.
Ibrahim also expressed concern about the pressure already faced by the winning MP, noting that further legal challenges would be unnecessarily stressful. “Why just waste a guy’s time and increase his BP? They are already stressed,” he said.
Addressing recent demonstrations by NDC supporters in Kpandai, Ibrahim argued that these protests were not spontaneous but organised and funded from Accra. “The Supreme Court is not going to bend to your wishes,” he cautioned the youth, asserting that no matter the demonstrations, the verdict will stand.

He further criticised what he described as the NDC’s ungrateful approach, suggesting that voters would take such actions into account ahead of the 2028 general elections.
“The NDC youth of Kpandai may be inspired by political messages from Accra, but what they are doing is a wasteful exercise. They can burn the sea, nothing will change,” Ibrahim concluded.
