Ghanaian MC and creative personality, David Adjei Frimpong, popularly known as MC Portfolio, has criticised the legal disputes surrounding Daddy Lumba’s funeral, saying they distracted from celebrating the late music legend’s life.
Speaking on Starr Showbiz with Feeling Daddy on Starr 103.5 FM on Saturday, December 13, 2025, MC Portfolio said the court processes became a major distraction, taking attention away from the intended festivities. “The whole legal system was even the worst-case scenario. They took it to the ground. So for me, the first point of my finger that I have to stretch on… is enthusiasm. It’s lost,” he explained.
He noted that the legal battles created confusion over who the surviving spouse was and affected how the funeral was organised. “Guessing who is the surviving spouse and how we can make the legend go home… the family is a place to blame,” he said, highlighting how family disagreements and legal entanglements compounded the situation.

MC Portfolio expressed disappointment that these disputes overshadowed the opportunity to honour Lumba properly. “It’s a clear indication that… this is likely to happen if you drop dead. And it is a true reflection of what he said in his song,” he added, suggesting that the legal distractions took away from the music icon’s legacy.
