The member of parliament for the Jirapa constituency Cletus Dapilah emphazed on former president Mahama’s noninvolvement in the air scandal.
“President Mahama didn’t do anything in the airbus. He didn’t do anything untoward. He was a president. The fact is that President Mahama is genuine.”
Mr. Cletus further explain that Mahama is a man of integrity and that he didn’t do anything to benefit directly with Mahama’s aim being to ensure that Ghana would gain advantages from the deal.
“He is very clean. He did not do anything to benefit directly. He wanted Ghana to benefit from the deal.”
Having the former president for a brother doesn’t means he can’t work or engage I any endeavor and him supplying military jet to other companies using airbus was his source of livelihood. Because of his name and him being related to the former president people just asumed that something corrupt was going on, Mr. Cletus stressed.
“So, if Samuel Mahama, who has been working with air bars, who has supplied military jets to other companies using air bars, that’s his work. You understand? So, because his brother was president, he should not do any business. (0:51) So, because of the name Samuel Mahama, they just tag President Mahama that, oh, some corruption might have taken place.”
