President John Dramani Mahama has called on Ghana’s newly commissioned High Commissioners and Ambassadors Des to ensure their diplomatic work produces tangible results for the nation.
Addressing the envoys at the Jubilee House, President Mahama stressed that their roles must go beyond ceremonial duties.
“Your work must translate into jobs, growth, opportunities, security and measurable benefits for our people,” he said.
He emphasized that every initiative, from attracting investment to opening new markets, should serve a “broader national purpose,” noting that Ghana’s missions abroad play a key role in advancing trade, tourism, and strategic partnerships.

The President also highlighted the importance of enhancing Ghana’s global reputation, describing the diplomatic corps as central to portraying the country as a “dependable partner, a predictable destination for business and tourism, and a principled yet pragmatic voice in regional and global affairs.”
The newly sworn-in ambassadors and high commissioners are:
- Alhaji Said Saleh Sinare, Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
- Lt. Col. Al Hajj Umar Sanda Ahmed, Ambassador to the Republic of Mali
- Mr. Kofi Attor, Ambassador to the Republic of Cuba
- Mr. Emmanuel Opeku, Ambassador-in-Situ
- Mrs. Regina Appiah-Sam, High Commissioner to the Republic of Malta

The ceremony marked the official commissioning of these envoys, underscoring the government’s commitment to leveraging diplomacy for national development.
