President John Dramani Mahama has revealed that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) threatened to initiate impeachment proceedings against him due to his recent visit to Togo.
Mahama made this disclosure while welcoming Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang back to the country.
“I have especially missed you because even traveling abroad has been difficult. They threatened to impeach me just for going to Togo while you were away,” Mahama stated, highlighting the intense political scrutiny surrounding his movements.
Despite the threats, President Mahama expressed his joy at Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s return and assured her of his full support.
“I am most excited to have you back. You are warmly welcome,” he added.
