President John Dramani Mahama is expected to attend the ceremonial sod-cutting and project unveiling of Sentuo Airport Garden City in Accra tomorrow, Tuesday, 15 September 2026, according to the event announcement.
The ceremony is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at the project site, 10 Giffard Road, Accra. The President is listed as Special Guest of Honour for the event, which will introduce the development promoted as “The Garden Above Accra”.
Background material prepared for the ceremony describes an estimated US$1.3 billion development combining premium apartments with a hotel, conference facilities, healthcare services, a shopping mall, gardens and supporting commercial and leisure amenities. Sentuo Group, led by Executive Chairman Xu Ningquan, is advancing the proposed scheme.
The plans include a conference facility designed to accommodate 2,500 people. Together with the proposed hotel and other amenities, it could expand the options available to businesses seeking a location for meetings, exhibitions and larger gatherings in Accra.
For Ghanaian professionals, families in the diaspora and expatriate residents, the residential concept offers the prospect of homes within a development that also provides space for hospitality, shopping and recreation. Its appeal rests on bringing everyday services and opportunities for leisure into the same setting.
The project also carries potential opportunities for Ghanaian businesses and workers. Construction could create demand for engineers, artisans, technicians and building materials, while the eventual operation of the hotel and conference facilities could support work in hospitality, catering, transport and property management.
Those opportunities would depend on the delivery of the proposed facilities and the participation of local firms in construction and service contracts. Practical training and skills transfer could help extend the benefits to young people entering these industries.
Gardens are central to the development’s identity, giving the residential and hospitality proposal a distinctive focus on outdoor space. The unveiling is intended to bring that wider vision before the public as Sentuo sets out its plans for the site.
Tomorrow’s ceremony is being promoted under the message “Building Ghana’s Future Together”, placing private investment and the opportunities it can create for Ghana at the centre of the occasion.
