The Minister for Zongo and Inner Cities Development, Alhaji Boniface Abubakari Sidique, has said MPs from both sides of the political divide are eager to see the inception of the Zongo Development Fund.
He said the lawmakers keep asking him when the Fund will be operational during an interaction with the media in Wa.
According to the minister, almost all the MPs are pushing him to fast track the processes leading to the enactment of the legislative instrument to operationalize the Fund.
He said: “I believe before the end of June or by the end of June, the document will be ready for approval by cabinet and by the end of July it should be ready for parliamentary approval. Almost every MP both National Democratic Congress and New Patriotic Party are pushing me, asking me when I am coming to their Zongos.”
He said everybody is eager to see the importance of the ministry since it would change the perception of Zongos because the MPs cannot do that on their one.
The ministry was introduced by the Akufo-Addo government after winning the 2016 elections.
