Recording artiste noted for popular campaign song ‘Onaapo’, Dee Aja, has revealed that the song was written by award-winning music producer NaCee.
There has been some breeding confusion over who actually composed the song, with celebrated gospel musician, Nacee, claiming the composition of the hit song.
Aja told Joy News in an interview that the official campaign song of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2016 Elections is entirely the work of NaCee, who is the leader of a music group they belong to.
“I don’t think the issue of who wrote the song ‘Onaapo’ should be a big issue. Everybody knows where I am coming from because I was groomed by NaCee… NaCee wrote it, he composed it and used his studio to record it … he owns this song and he saw the potential in me and gave it to me”.
Dee Aja added that he doesn’t feel safe sometimes after NDC’s defeat in the 2016 elections.
“Sometimes I’m scared I will be attacked… sometimes when I’m out with my manager I ask if we are safe…Sometimes I’m so afraid that when I wake up at dawn I make sure I peep through my window to make sure no one is there before I come out.”
Dee Aja performed the song at the Ovation Carols held in Nigeria last year.
