As part of the 2025 National Youth Festival, all sixteen regions of Ghana will host decentralized activities aimed at empowering young people and expanding access to development opportunities.
The Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Osman Ayariga, during the official launch of the festival, revealed that each region will organise a wide array of events, including regional conferences, job fairs, youth parliament sittings, cultural performances, and community service activities.
“This celebration is truly a national effort,” Mr. Ayariga said. “We are working closely with the UN System, all Ministries, Departments and Agencies, Parliament, faith-based organizations, traditional authorities, regional coordinating councils, NGOs, civil society organizations, corporate partners, media houses, student groups, and youth-focused organizations.”
The regional festivals are designed to complement the national activities taking place throughout August, including the National Youth Conference, Presidential Dialogue, and the Climate Action Summit.

According to the CEO, this nationwide decentralisation is not just about celebration; it is an intentional move to ensure equity and inclusion in youth empowerment.
“Our young people face real challenges… But within these challenges lie opportunities for transformation, innovation, and growth,” he noted.
The 2025 National Youth Festival is being held under the theme “Igniting Potential; Inspiring Change.”
